Cowboys' next signing will not be an Ezekiel Elliott reunion, according to NFL rumors.

The Dallas Cowboys opened the preseason against the Jacksonville Jaguars, falling 28-23. In the broad scheme of the NFL schedule, preseason results signify very little,

but time is running short for Dallas to solve a few significant roster concerns. First, RB Tony Pollard missed the entire offseason due to a knee ailment.

While recent developments have been encouraging, the Cowboys lack depth behind Pollard, who is due to become a free agency in 2024.

To make matters worse, the Cowboys' offensive line is on its way out. Veteran Pro Bowler Zack Martin is still on strike over contract issues, with no end in sight.

Chuma Edoga, another crucial offensive lineman, was taken off the field earlier this week during Cowboys practice.

A couple of free agency signings appear to be unavoidable. When asked which of the Cowboys' weaknesses will be addressed first, ESPN expert Todd Archer made a simple prediction:

This is just natural. Once Pollard returns, he will handle the majority of Dallas' backfield duties.
