Alex Collins, a former running back for the Seattle Seahawks and Baltimore Ravens, died on Sunday night in a motorcycle accident in South Florida at the age of 28.
Collins, a fifth-round pick of the Seahawks in 2016, wowed fans by incorporating Irish dance into his touchdown celebrations.
Collins was killed in Southern Florida when his Suzuki motorcycle and a Chevrolet SUV collided and crashed.
"At some point, the Chevrolet driver turned left and traveled south on Northwest 33rd Avenue."
The motorcycle collided with the back passenger side of the SUV as the car crossed the eastbound lanes.
The hit forced the motorcycle to enter the Chevrolet's rear passenger side window and come to a stop inside the vehicle.
The accident apparently caused the Chevrolet to twist clockwise before coming to a stop, according to investigators.
"Absolutely heartbroken," the Seahawks tweeted. "Prayers are with the Collins family."
